CHARLITA HOUSTON

Charlita Houston started singing at a very early age. She sang in the church choir, in local ensembles and toured with her family. In 2005 Charlita ventured out as a solo artist. She began writing her own music and was opening up for artists such as Oleta Adams, Tramaine Hawkins, Walter Hawkins, Jason Nelson and some of the finest bay area groups. In 2008 Charlita recorded her first multi-single entitled “Go On” and partnered with sponsors to do a benefit concert for the people in Uganda. For several years Charlita began working with local choirs on voice training and proper technique. In 2016 Charlita received her AA degree in Music at Diablo Valley College and transferred to Cal State East Bay where she received her BA in the spring of 2018. Outside of music, Charlita has published her first book entitled “No Greater Love”, she has a wonderful and supporting family, and is willing to help out however she can.

Thomasina blends acoustic pop and synth beats for a unique sound that spans genres. Beginning with her roots in country music inspired by Patsy Cline and Kacey Musgraves, and moving toward pop beats with the rhythms of Julia Micheals and Ariana Grande, Thomasina has incorporated what she has learned from the genres in between and combined them into her own unique style of storytelling. Her primary genres are Pop, Country/Folk and Singer-Songwriter. Thomasina found her passion for songwriting at 10 years old and has taught nearly a hundred students in various instruments since then.

She has experience teaching songwriting, voice, guitar, piano, and ukulele to students of all ages. She enjoys crossing over between instruments and genres to provide a well-rounded knowledge of music. It is her greatest passion to pass the gift of music on to others. Through music, Thomasina has found a way to communicate and wants to help others find that passion as well.
